The story of Chopard begins in a small village in Switzerland when a 24 year old Louis-Ulysse Chopard, a watchmaker, opened his own watch manufactory under the name L.U.C. The L.U.C. watches were very thin and of great precision and won illustrious clients such as Russian Tzar Nicolas II. The Chopard brand stayed in the family until 1963 when it was sold on to Karl Scheufele III, of a German master watchmaker family. Under the Scheufele family Chopard developed its most beautiful and finest watches and jewellery pieces and reached true cult and global status.

This Chopard ‘Happy Sport’ 26mm 18k Yellow Gold, is part of the ‘Happy Sport’ collection. The story of the ‘Happy Sport’ starts in 1976 when Chopard designer Ronald Kurowski introduced a men’s watch yellow gold case that secured movable ‘free-floating’ diamonds between two pieces of sapphire glass which enabled the diamonds to move together with the movements of the wearer’s wrists. In 1993, Caroline Scheufele for the first time applied the idea of the ‘dancing’ diamonds to a stainless-steel sports watch. The watch is designed to go elevate casual outfits with its luxe design. Since its 1993 launch, the ‘Happy Spirit’ watch has gone through as many as 1000 iterations showing its versatility and popularity.
