This Chopard Happy Diamonds 18k Yellow Gold Clown Necklace is part of the ‘Happy Diamonds’ range. Chopard’s ‘Happy Diamonds’ line was first introduced in 1976 by Chopard designer Ronald Kurowski. It presented for the first time a men’s watch case that secured movable ‘free-floating’ or ‘dancing’ diamonds between two pieces of sapphire glass which enabled the diamonds to move together with the movements of the wearer’s wrists. The idea was transposed to the first piece of Chopard jewellery in 1983, with the launch of the Chopard ‘Happy Clown’ an 18k yellow gold clown pendant set with a glass tummy that secured free-floating ‘dancing’ diamonds and gems. The setting is one of the most innovative and popular in modern jewellery history and is a trademark of the Chopard house.
